  • Disable any mock location or location spoofing apps.
  • Disable any low power or battery saving modes.
  • Disable any remote access, proxies, anonymizers, or Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
  • Run an anti-virus scan to verify that no malware is installed on your device that may be exploiting such services without your knowledge.
  • Do not use browser incognito modes or private browsing options.
  • Disable ad blockers and other settings that may prevent or interfere with website tracking.
Computer and Tablet Guidelines
To ensure the best location results, do the following:

Playing in New York if Close to the Border Guidelines
If too close to the border and the accuracy of your location is insufficient or your IP address incorrectly places you in a bordering jurisdiction or land, then your transaction will be blocked. To increase your odds of successfully completing your transaction, try the following:
  • Move further away from the border and try again.
  • Try again from a different device (some devices may provide higher location accuracies).
  • Try again from a different internet connection (a different internet connection type may result in an updated or more accurate location assessment).
  • Ensure all location sharing and location services options in your device settings are enabled.
  • Check your IP location information from a free online web site (such as ip2location or whatsmyip) and submit an update request to customer support if it is incorrect.
Physically in New York State, and Receiving Error Indicating Not Located in the Allowed Area Guidelines

  • If you are connected via a cellular, satellite, or ethernet connection, switch to a Wi-Fi connection and try again.
  • Confirm that you are not located in an area in New York within restricted areas where play is not allowed.
  • Allow cookies and data sharing in your browser and app settings and make sure you agree to sharing whenever prompted on the web site or in the mobile app.
  • Disable any remote desktop access, proxies, anonymizers, or Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
  • Run an anti-virus scan to verify that no malware is installed on your device that may be exploiting such services without your knowledge.
  • Disable ad blockers and other settings that may prevent or interfere with website tracking.
  • Try again from a different internet connection (a different internet connection type may result in an updated or more accurate location assessment).
  • Disable any mock location, location spoofing, incognito or private browsing options.
  • After making any changes to your settings, you may need to delete your browser cookies, clear your application cache, close and restart the browser or app before the changes will take effect.
  • Power cycle the device (this can help refresh the device’s location information).
  • It could also help to try from a different device, browser or location.
Remote Desktop Guidelines

Remote desktop connections are not allowed. In order to complete your transaction, you must quit any remote desktop programs running on your device and ensure that they are fully disabled. You may need to remove/uninstall the program in order to continue. Check your device using an anti-virus program for malware that may be exploiting such capabilities without your knowledge.

Proxy or VPN software Guidelines

Proxy and VPN software must be disabled to play. In order to complete your transaction, you must quit any proxy or VPN programs running on your device and ensure that they are fully disabled. You may need to remove/uninstall the program in order to continue. Check your device with an anti-virus program for malware that may be exploiting such services without your knowledge.

Popup Guidelines

You must enable/allow popups in order to complete your transaction and you will need to disable any popup blocking software you have running. Also, disable ad blockers and other settings that may prevent or interfere with website tracking.

Disabling or removing a remote access or VPN service from a device
    Remote access/desktop or VPN programs/services can interfere with the location processes necessary to confirm that you are in an allowed area and will need to be disabled in order for you to play. Note that some of these services may run in the background on your device upon start-up or restart automatically when closed, so you may need to delete them to proceed successfully.
Closing remote access or VPN service from an iOS device:
  • From the home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen
  • Swipe right or left to find the app you want to close
  • Swipe up on the app’s preview to close the app
Closing remote access or VPN service from an Android device:
  • From the home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle of the screen
  • Swipe right or left to find the app you want to close
  • Swipe up on the app’s preview to close the app
  • Alternatively, you can open the "Settings" menu, select "Apps", choose the app you want to close from the list and select "Force Stop"
Closing remote access or VPN service from a Windows/PC device:
  • Press the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys at the same time on the keyboard and select the "Task Manager"
  • From the "Task Manager", select the app or process you want to stop and click on "End task"
  • If your remote access or VPN application restarts automatically after being stopped, run services.msc, find the service for your application, right click on "Properties" and ensure that "Startup Type" is set to "manual" or "disabled".

  • Press the Command+Option+Escape keys at the same time on the keyboard to open the "Activity Monitor"
  • From the "Activity Monitor", you can select the app or process you want to quit

  • From the home screen, swipe left past all your home pages to get to the "App Library"
  • Touch and hold the app you want to delete
  • Tap "Delete App"
  • Tap "Delete"

  • Click on "Settings"
  • Select "Apps"
  • Choose the app from the list of apps and select "Uninstall"
Remove or delete remote access or VPN service from a Windows/PC device:
  • Open the "Start" menu on your device
  • Select the "Settings" option
  • Click "Apps"
  • Choose the app from the list and select "Uninstall"
Remove or delete remote access or VPN service from a Mac device:
  • Click on the "Applications" folder from the sidebar of the "Finder" window
  • Choose the app from the list and either drag the app to the "Trash" or select the app and press Comand+Delete on the keyboard
